Hadrian's characteristic beard and curly hair are worked in volume. • The toga (chlamys) is cut from a block of yellow breccia marble. The folds of the drapery are deeply carved. • The fibula (shoulder clasp) is made of contrasting white marble. Technical characteristics: • Subject: Portrait of Emperor Hadrian. • Materials: Massive polychrome marbles. • Weight: Approximately 400 kg. • Condition: Excellent condition. The visible lines on the torso correspond to the natural veins of the stone and not to breaks.
