Description
Elegant carpet veramine, kurdish around 1880. Vearmine mina-khani design antique carpets from central persia are recognized as exceptional workshop weaves, renowned for their remarkable quality, fine and crisp designs and balanced variety of plant colors. This beautiful veramine carpet from the late 19th century has a remarkable tight weave that explains the clarity of its design. The navy blue field complements the generous large-scale design, framed by a wide terracotta border. The charming "mina khani" motif: composed of four rounded flowers similar to a daisy, arranged in such a way as to form a diamond, and joined by a branch. This basic pattern can be repeated to form a floral grid. It is in good condition for its age, retaining its borders are original on all four sides. Its vegetal hues are harmonious and its hand-spun wool has aged well. On the entire contour of the carpet, at the back, a strip has been woven in order to be able to keep it in its juice, without adding new edges so as not to distort its vegetal colors of yesteryear. A timeless example that completes a wide variety of parameters. Carpet totally made of wool on wool sign of its antiquity, cotton did not exist at the time.
