The seat and back are newly upholstered in chrome-free Swedish Elmosoft IX leather in black, giving the chairs a lovely soft handle and appearance. Designed initially as dining chairs and today almost exclusively found in special spaces like the cabinet of the important Restaurant Savoy in Helsinki, these chairs will steal your attention with their subtle rounder Aalto form, and heart with their comfort. Backrest width 48cm. Seat height 44cm. Total of 4 chairs, sold in sets of 2 or 4; enquire to purchase an individual chair. Price per set of 2. Shipping worldwide and quoted separately. Alvar Aalto is one of Finland's most prominent architects and designers and one of Scandinavia's biggest proponents of modern architecture and design. Several pieces of furniture he designed are today considered iconic design classics. He was inspired by the Finnish landscape and gave in the design of his furniture equal weight to form and function, encouraging a more beautiful everyday life at home.
