This lamp, known as the Télé-Lumière, was designed to accompany the rise of television in households. At a time when cathode-ray screens were very bright and tiring for the eyes, the Télé-Lumière had a specific function: it emitted indirect and controlled light, reducing the contrast between the screen and the darkness of the room. Thanks to its ingenious double-screen system, it allowed for: - either directing the light towards the living space, - or diffusing it to watch television without glare. Triangular diffuser in Plexiglas - damaged on one side under the pin. Missing a pin at the bottom. Base and structure in moulded plastic, typical of industrial design from the 50s-60s. Rotary switch integrated into the base. The whole is lightweight and easy to move, perfectly suited to the domestic furniture of the time. VOLT 110 and not 220.
