Rare Model 555 T floor lamp designed by Oscar Torlasco for Lumi, Milan, circa 1955. A refined example of post-war Italian lighting, combining precise mechanical adjustment with the more decorative material language of the period. The articulated construction allows the position and direction of the light to be adjusted, with the mechanism forming an integral part of the design. Its technical approach and restrained geometry place it alongside the work of Gino Sarfatti, Vittoriano Viganò and Giuseppe Ostuni, where functional elements were often left visible and became part of the overall composition.
