Add a piece of history to your collection with this faithful reissue of the “tasse de lumière.” created in 1794 at the manufacture nationale de sèvres, it is reproduced here with meticulous respect by andré raynaud, master porcelain maker from limoges. This project is under the high patronage of the friends of the carnavalet museum, custodian of the original preserved in paris. Made of porcelain, it features a deep and sumptuous blue background. The decoration includes four medallions adorned with revolutionary symbols surrounded by gold stripes, pearl friezes, and stylized gold leaf friezes. A laurel frieze adorns the lower part of the cup, framed by two friezes of pearls and gold stripes. On the upper rim of the cup, a tricolor ribbon stands out against a hatched background. The decoration of the saucer and plate features unique motifs. Among other things, it features a phrygian cap, an open science book, and an eye, all symbols of revolutionary ideals. The cup bears the mark 2000 in gold, signed by the gilder henry françois vincent.
