Oak DE02 sideboard by Cees Braakman for Pastoe 1950s

Beautiful Pastoe sideboard designed by Cees Braakman in 1952. Cees Braakman designed this sideboard in the Oak series, model name DE02. This series of furniture was intended to mark the transition from heavy pre-war oak furniture to the new post-war modern era, fully in line with the 'good living' philosophy. He drew inspiration from American designs, especially the use of plywood for the anti-dust drawers, which was ahead of its time in Europe. The minimal design with a nod to the past is a wonderful reflection of its era. The cabinet is fully restored and refinished and is therefore in good vintage condition.
