Vintage french floral arrangement oil painting

Decorative and fun large vintage vibrant french floral oil painting. Painted in 1974, the palette is of wonderful tones of yellow, red and blue. The composition is a floral bouquet with amongst others sunflowers, tulips and dahlias against a dark brown background. This is an excellent radiant example of floral pieces that were painted in the 70’s in the area of bordeaux. This panting follows the tradition of the (dutch) old master floral still life paintings from the 17th and 18th century. Each petal has been painted with diligent precision. Around the bouquet, there are also bees, a snail and various insects of different size and palette colours. The artist has captured the beauty of the bouquet perfectly well. The painting is signed in the middle and in the lower right by jean-pierre ribes. Oil on canvas.
