Emile roy (1876-1973): arundel tower and place maraud. La chaume, place maraud in the 1940s with sailors' cellars, pous, large masts for drying nets, fairground trailers, the amieux factory, and the arundel tower... Son of a line of master glassmakers from sablais, emile roy went to the school of fine arts in paris, in the workshop of the grand prix de rome, auguste leroux, before choosing to settle permanently in les sables to take over the family business.
