"Circumspection" signed Stany Holda (1919-1981)

Oil on panel titled Circumspection, signed by the Belgian painter of Polish origin Stany Holda (1919-1981), an artist included in the Piron dictionary of Belgian visual artists. Likely created in the 1950s, this work belongs to the artist's abstract period, where material, contrasts, and geometric construction take centre stage. The composition develops a dense and almost cosmic universe, blending deep blacks, turquoise touches, burnt reds, and circular movements that immediately capture the eye. The work of material and the layering of colours give the whole piece great visual depth, with a particularly decorative presence. The painting is presented in its original wooden frame. The work has a small loss of paint in the centre as well as a discreet mark from an accident on the frame, visible in photos.
