Old abedeh carpet with the classic motif of the zili sultan "vase and peacock". Closely related to the original motif formed by a tree on which two birds come to rest, it seems that the zil-i-sultan was invented in persia, at the end of the 19th century, by a dignitary of the court of the qajar dynasty, its name meaning, indeed, "shadow of the sultan". Colors based on natural dyes are shimmering on an ivory background. This is a superb example of a type, with pure soft wool, the red border of the floor is of an unusual design and frames the carpet well. Note all the small birds in the pattern of the field surrounding the vases of flowers. Due to their quality and aesthetic value, abedeh rugs are often considered works of art and are highly sought after by collectors and carpet lovers around the world. They represent an important part of iran's cultural heritage and are a symbol of the traditional craftsmanship and know-how of the abedeh region. A true masterpiece of persian craftsmanship, these rugs are appreciated for their durability and wear resistance. So used as floor mats to bring a warm and colorful touch in classic and contemporary interiors, they can also be used as wall decoration. Sought after by collectors, it is a true cultural heritage of iranian craftsmanship and a safe investment.
