Secretary

Secretary Louis Philippe (or style) in oak, plated in walnut bramble (or magnifying glass?) brown-red. Ancient (19th?), it bears traces of time and small accidents. But it is really very good, solid and in pretty good general condition. A good cleaning and some care could already give it a lot of shine, keeping its history and patina. The secretary has 13 drawers, all assembled in dovetails and plated on the front: - 3 large (width: 83 X depth: 35 X height: 12 cm), lock (the last of which is broken) at the bottom of the furniture, - 6 small with brass button handles, behind the cutting tray, - and above all 4 secret drawers (without handles): one in the ledge, one just below and one on either side of the small drawers. The latter two spring open sour. Their mechanism is to be reviewed because the one on the left is not sufficiently restrained to close completely and the one on the right is stuck (no longer opens). The furniture also has a rectangular niche (width: 80 X depth: 32 X height: 33.5 cm), fully plated, with the front worked in arcade. The cutting tray (width: 86 X depth: 72 X thickness: 2.5 cm) was once probably held by chains now extinct. The corners are skinned, more strongly at the bottom, traces of blows at the top left on the outside. The slice of the feller bears stamped letters. The leather underhand, obviously very damaged, was covered successively with skivertex and wallpaper... Other things to note: - a few holes up to the left in the ledge - wear, light scratches and holes filled on the outside of the furniture, more damaged right side with cracks, gaps and wormholes. - a piece covering the right front foot is to be fixed. We are not in possession of the keys but two pieces of keys are still stuck in the lock of the knockdown and the lock on the bottom drawer. Back of the furniture in good condition. Sold as it is, in its juice. Approximate total dimensions: height 156 cm - width 112 cm - depth 50 cm. Be careful, this piece of furniture is very heavy, count in the 100 kg.
