Description: This delightful dining set was designed and manufactured by ercol one of britain's furniture manufacturing giants. Like all ercol furniture, this set features a superb design and has been manufactured to a high standard. The sought-after model 445 slide leg expanding dining table was one of ercolion's most ingenious designs comfortably seating up to ten people. The top is in two sections extending by the telescopic action of the under rails of each section. The center supporting leg slides back towards one end of the table (well away from the sitter's feet) when the table is in its closed position. Extended or closed it has a bolt locking device for complete rigidity. The two loose folding center leaves are stored under the top of the table when not in use. The set comes with four models 365 quaker chairs and two 365a quaker windsor armchairs, a charming variation of the traditional windsor theme. The classic simplicity of the tall domed back has a special appeal, like everything ercol made a simply brilliant design and fantastic craftsmanship.
