Neo-Renaissance style graduated desk

A favourite for this magnificent "bonheur du jour" desk in Neo-Renaissance style (19th century), a piece of character that imposes its elegance and craftsmanship. Entirely made of solid wood (oak or walnut), it stands out for the richness and finesse of its hand-carved sculptures. The upper part (step) is topped with a superb openwork pediment adorned with motifs of chimeras or confronting dragons and scrolls, typical of the artistic cabinetmaking of this era.
