Baroque writing desk, Lombardy, second quarter of the 18th century.

Writing desk resting on wavy goat's hoof feet, drawer in the belt under the top, top and shelf with a carved crown representing plant motifs and a central star. At the bottom, the shelf features a period projection indicating that the piece belongs to a woodwork, probably a library. The piece is decorated with inlays representing floral motifs, present in the solid wood of the top and in a walnut burr veneer with maple fillets also present on the drawer and the shelf.
