RY Møbler RY35 extendable dining table in solid oak, 1979

Original RY35 extendable dining table by RY Møbler, Denmark, manufactured in 1979. The design is characterised by the organically rounded edge, the elegant cross base and the thoughtful extension system that allows the table to be easily adapted for different groups. This version is made of solid oak and bears the original production date of 3 July 1979. When closed, the round table comfortably seats four to six people. With the original extension leaf, it becomes a generous oval dining table that seats six to eight people. The table is offered with one original extension leaf. In addition, a second matching extension leaf is available if desired, from a later produced example. As this leaf differs visibly in colour and wood structure, the table is presented in the version that best matches the original design aesthetically. The table is in very neat vintage condition and has been professionally restored while retaining its original patina. As a result, the table looks warm, authentic and lively, without losing its history. The extension mechanism works smoothly and the table is fully stable. Upon closer inspection, a slight movement is visible at the central leg construction, appropriate to the age of the furniture. Dimensions are as follows: height 71 cm, diameter 120-170 cm.
