Bitossi Aldo Londi lamp base

Lamp base in red terracotta with a silver exterior. Textured handmade decoration with engraved lines and a metallic glaze. Created by Aldo Londi (1911-2009) for the Italian company Bitossi in the 1960s. The ceramist Aldo Londi created nearly a thousand objects as artistic director for the Bitossi factory from 1946 to 2003. Very good condition, two tiny silver enamel losses, one on the side and the other at the bottom of the base (see the last photos). Manufacturer's sticker under the piece is partly torn. Dimensions: height 33 cm, diameter 9.2 cm. Large-base bulb not included. Original electrification. Weight without packaging: 1.4 kg. Rare piece.
