Scandinavian pine bench with a swivel backrest, 1890s.

A classic antique Scandinavian bench with a swivel backrest. A folk art design found throughout Scandinavia, often referred to as a turning bench (vändbänk). This could be a very useful addition to a hall or corridor. The bench is in usable condition but remains sturdy. At one point, two parts of the armrests were replaced, as can be seen in the photos. There are traces of old woodworm on the underside, but they are now gone. The seat height is 48.5 cm.
