19th-century farmhouse table in fruitwood – 2 large drawers
Beautiful provincial farmhouse table from the 19th century, made of fruitwood, likely cherry or wild cherry, displaying a restored natural golden-amber patina characteristic of period pieces. The tabletop is composed of several assembled boards, framed by a peripheral band. It shows cracks, fissures, and signs of wear that testify to authentic use over the decades, with some localized chips. It is equipped with two drawers: one with a turned wooden knob, the other with a forged metal loop handle. The main drawer is divided into interior compartments, reminiscent of a cutlery or spice drawer. The four tapered legs with a square section, slightly narrowing towards the bottom, are typical of the provincial style from the late 18th or early 19th century. Notable are a few small woodworm holes, additional evidence of the piece's age. Restoration of the tabletop included filling, sanding, and protective varnish. Dimensions: L. 148 cm × W. 71 cm × H. 76 cm — Height under the band: 58 cm. Weight: 15 kg. Ideal for a kitchen, country dining room, or entryway for a rustic or authentic interior.
