Side Chair Bertoia

History: In 1952, Italian sculptor Harry Bertoia experimented with bending metal rods into functional sculpture forms. This resulted in a collection of seats - including this model often referred to as the "wire chair" - which have now become design icons published by the Knoll company. The production of these chairs, made in Europe in the 1980s, is done manually: each wire is bent by hand before being welded. The result is a shape - although similar to the eye - that is unique to each piece. Its metal mesh gives the chair an industrial feel that fits perfectly into all types of interiors, as well as outdoors, as they have been for over thirty years. Description: Over time, chrome develops a patina, and after restoration by us of the damaged parts, as well as treatment for rust; they are ready to take their place both indoors and outdoors. Although their seats may seem less rigid than they appear, cushions can also be ordered from the official Knoll website and added for extra comfort, along with all sorts of alternatives like cushions or skins. White or black versions are also available and can be made to order, although we will always prefer the original look. Available individually or in sets.
