Beautiful Art Deco ashtray. Piece in glazed ceramic with a vitrified effect, blue on a speckled brown gradient background. Semi-artisanal work from around 1930, stamped "H.Picard Le Coteau" for Henri Picard, a ceramicist (Le Coteau near Roanne, Loire, France), father of the renowned ceramicist Adrienne Picard. Maximum diameter approximately 11.3 cm, maximum height at the edges approximately 2.8 cm. An antique item (early 20th century, probably around 1930) in very good condition for its age. No major defects but a barely visible glaze skip on one edge (see zoomed photo), a minimal chip underneath that is not visible once placed, intentionally asymmetrical glazing that reflects its semi-artisanal production. See detailed zoomed photos, which are contractual and complementary to the description. Ideal for a classic or more trendy decor, vintage spirit, loft, French design from the interwar period, Art Deco, modernist, Fauvism, ceramics, pottery, stoneware and glazed earthenware, charming antiques, Scandinavian, cottage, bohemian, romantic, shabby chic, boudoir...
