Red alabaster ashtray

Large ashtray made of a hard, red material with inclusions of a color between beige and caramel yellow and a darker red veining. It seems to me that it is red alabaster but not being a specialist I cannot certify this. Its upper side has been polished, it is very smooth and has 4 cigarette slots. The underside is flat but has not been polished, and the edge is raw, full of rough edges. An ashtray that won't go unnoticed on a table or piece of furniture! It must date from the 60s or 70s. It is in good general condition, without cracks or chips, but has some marks of use or of its age, or perhaps even of origin: small roughness, small marks and scratches on the upper face. It measures approximately 18 cm in diameter, with a height of 4 cm. It weighs approximately 1.1 kg.
