Danish Farmhouse Table with Patina

This beautiful farmhouse table was made entirely by hand in our workshop on our farm using traditional methods. The frame and legs are made from our own oak trees that we lost in the 2009 storm. The top is made from fir boards that I have aged. My husband and I wanted to create a table that had all the beauty, elegance and of course the strength of a classic French farmhouse table that I love so much. This table took all of these elements into account. The color and shape are simply beautiful, I built the patina with Danish oil, many coats and 400 grit sanding on the top, the feel of the top is very smooth and silky with great depth of character and charm and a stunning color. The finish I have achieved with this table is everything and more than I could have imagined. The table is stunning and will only get better with the decades!
