Pair of Wassily armchairs in original off-white canvas and steel, signed by Gavina in 1964. Very good original condition. Seat height 46 cm. This pair of armchairs was designed in 1925 by the Hungarian designer Marcel Breuer, then produced by Gavina in the 1960s in Italy (see label). They are composed of a bent steel tube structure and beige canvas strips forming the backrest, seat, and armrests. For this model, Marcel Breuer was inspired by industrial manufacturing techniques; it will be described as revolutionary for its time! A great classic that we love to find in interiors; we will never tire of it. The Wassily, or B3, is a must-have piece of 20th-century design. It owes its name to Vassily Kandinsky; in fact, this armchair was designed by the designer for the famous painter's apartment.
