This wooden side table is an Art Deco piece from the 1930s. It features superb marquetry and veneer work combining several types of wood. This accent table has been restored. Mahogany is used for the large triangles of the upper top as well as the "sun" veneer of the lower octagonal base. Burl wood is used for the central octagonal medallion on the top. Lemon wood is used for the marquetry inlays that separate the triangles of the top and for the light squares of the checkerboard on the edge. Walnut is used for the dark squares of the checkerboard frieze on the edge of the top, as well as the upper part of the four column legs. D1850.
