Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Magic of the Hours - The Night

This lithograph “la féérie des heures - la nuit” is signed henri rivière and bears a red stamp in the lower left corner. The work is authentic and old. For the condition, note in the margin, ink lines on the left, a slight vertical fold on the left and another in the upper right corner, small stains in places, a difference in size between the top and the bottom. On the lithograph, we note small white lines in the sky. However, once framed most of the defects will be barely visible. Henri rivière (1864-1951) is a french painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career with drawing then with intaglio engraving and specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he began a career as a director and scenographer, in 1886, of the shadow theater at the cabaret du chat noir, shows that he improved by creating very innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, woodcuts, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
