Set of 6 Albert Jacob / Grofillex bridge chairs 1970

The collaboration of Belgian designer Albert Jacob with the manufacturer Grosfillex, a specialist in modern plastics, has been particularly fruitful, giving rise to numerous iconic models of the Space Age movement. It was in the 1970s that this stackable bridge chair model, intended for communal use, was created. It consists of an ergonomic moulded plastic seat shell in sandy beige, a dark brown non-slip fabric band, and a dark brown square tubular steel frame. The armrests are made of dark brown plastic. Each unit in this set of six features stripes on the armrests and sometimes on the base, with very minor wear on the beige plastic. Two examples have a damaged but stable fabric band. The overall condition is very good, or good, and structurally without defects. It should also be noted that there are two shades of beige here, very close but not perfectly identical, likely due to different productions. The comfort and high decorative potential make this chair a character piece of 70s furniture and a must-have, as this model is extremely rare.
