Superb glazed stoneware jug signed Salins, model 654, with a generous and perfectly balanced silhouette. This piece immediately captivates with its clouded glaze work, oscillating between deep blue, mineral grey, and sandy hues, with delicate natural drips that enliven the surface. Its shape is both sculptural and organic: rounded body, slightly flared neck, wide and comfortable handle, and a tubular spout affirming its character as a utilitarian piece that has now become fully decorative. The whole exudes a strong, almost architectural presence while maintaining a great visual softness. A mineral and clouded presence in the spirit of the great French decorative stonewares, with a well-defined Salins signature. Stamped Salins-les-Bains (Jura), one of the great French manufacturers of the 20th century, recognised for the quality of its stoneware and its research into modern aesthetic glazes.
