Rare set of three ashtrays with their ashtray holder – Ceramica Titano – Republic of San Marino – Italy, 1960s. Beautiful glazed ceramic set consisting of three individual ashtrays and their original ashtray holder, published by Ceramica Titano – Republic of San Marino, around 1960. Each ashtray features the portrait of a different young woman, finely engraved in a decor with very "sixties" accents. The faces, with graphic hairstyles and large eyes, stand out against a deep red background, punctuated with touches of turquoise and yellow. The ashtray holder, with a bright turquoise interior, is decorated around its edge with large stylised leaves, typical of Italian design from this period. Both sculptural and decorative, this set perfectly illustrates the Mid-Century Italian aesthetic, where everyday objects were conceived as true artistic creations. Complete sets are now rare. The ashtrays, having been used daily, many have disappeared or been separated from their holder over the decades. This one is preserved in its original composition. Signature: Ceramica Titano – Republic of San Marino (marking under the ashtray holder). Condition: Very good overall condition. No cracks or chips observed. Light signs of use consistent with its age. An authentic and expressive piece, ideal for lovers of Italian ceramics, Mid-Century design, and the aesthetics of the 1960s.
