Strawberry-decorated biscuit tin signed JEM

Antique enamelled glass biscuit barrel signed JEM – Strawberry decoration. A delightful antique biscuit or sugar barrel made of frosted glass, adorned with a delicate hand-painted enamel decoration of strawberries and foliage. The decoration stands out with its fresh colours and lovely contrast against the slightly opalescent glass. The piece is complemented by an elegant gilded metal mount for the lid and handle, featuring ornamental oak leaf and acorn designs, with a movable handle. The glass bears the signature JEM, attributed to Joseph Mure, associated with the Legras school. A piece that is both decorative and functional, particularly charming in an old or country kitchen, a library, or a display cabinet. There is a small defect on the lid, some impurities at the neck, and three discreet slight glass bubbles.
