Charles and Ray Eames created the elegant chair La Chaise as part of a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1948, inspired by Gaston Lachaise's sculpture "Floating Figure." The chair has long since become an icon of organic design. This is a copy, not a re-edition. Shell: polyester resin, lacquered white. Base: chrome-plated steel tube. Crossbeam of the base: solid wood, natural oak, finished with hard wax oil. Dimensions: H. 87 X W. 150 X D. 90 cm - Seat height: 49 cm. It shows signs of wear on the back, very visible in the photo because taken up close but quite subtle from a distance. There is also a small snag on the front.
