We are thrilled to offer a complete, matching set of four exceptional dining chairs. This is the highly collectible Model 200-190, an absolute icon of Eastern European Mid-Century Modern design, created in the 1960s by the legendary Polish architect and designer, Professor Rajmund Halas. The price listed is for the complete set of 4 chairs. DESIGN AND HISTORY Prof. Halas was a visionary who shaped the aesthetic of a generation, known for blending sculptural beauty with everyday ergonomics. The genius of this design lies in its striking compass-style A-frame legs and the characteristic curved "crescent" backrest that appears to elegantly float above the seat. This fluid, organic profile draws clear inspiration from the finest Scandinavian design principles, providing both visual lightness and incredible structural stability. RESTORATION AND WOOD FINISH The solid wood frames were meticulously stripped of all old varnishes by hand. We stained them in a rich, warm walnut tone and sealed the frames with premium, eco-friendly hard wax oil. This treatment provides a smooth, satin-matte finish that protects the wood against daily dining use while completely avoiding the artificial gloss of synthetic lacquers. The original brass-toned mounting screws have been carefully preserved. UPHOLSTERY The drop-in seats and backrests were completely rebuilt from scratch using brand new, high-resilience foam to ensure long-lasting modern comfort. For the upholstery, we selected a high-quality, multidimensional fabric with a unique "chameleon" effect. Depending on the lighting and the viewing angle, the color shifts beautifully between deep navy blue, cool grey, and elegant graphite. This sophisticated fabric pairs flawlessly with the warm walnut frames. DIMENSIONS (Per chair) Total Height: 76 cm. Width: 40 cm. Total Depth: 48 cm.
