This engraving was produced by rené pinard, it is signed and numbered 2/180. This is a lively scene from the port of nantes. The work has its natural wooden frame and protective glass. We report pitting and rust spots, however the engraving remains presentable. René pinard (1883-1938) is a french painter and engraver. He was appointed painter of the navy in 1921. Obviously, as a marine painter, most of his work has the theme of the sea, the navy and sailors. Moreover, more often the boats than the sea itself. During his 35-year career as a painter, he produced a number of beautiful works: engravings, drawings, watercolors, characterized by a systematic use of powerful black.
