Very beautiful modern lithograph, aquatint, colored in bistre, after a watercolor by david roberts (1796-1864). It was originally engraved by louis haghe (1806-1885) and edited, published by fg moon and son in london. David, roberts, painter, watercolorist, well known for his depictions of life in the middle east, with village scenes and monuments. Of his travel watercolors, 248. Lithographs grouped in six volumes, describe egypt, nubi, the holy land, syria, arabia, and were produced at the time on stone by the famous topographer, louis haghe and his team for seven years. Here is shown a group of people filling water jars, with writing on the right. David roberts, ra and on the left fountain at cana april 21st 1839. A very pretty mat enhances the lithograph as well as a pretty burgundy, glazed frame. Condition: very good condition, ready to be hung, to decorate your interior with charm. Size: h 36 cm w 46 cm.
