Sectional Sofa by the Dutch designer Theo Ruth for Artifort, 1950s

Modular seating group by Dutch designer Theo Ruth for Artifort in the 1950's. The four elements can be used separately or can be combined together as a four-seat sofa. These chairs have a wooden structure with traditional coil springs in the upholstery and an aluminium or metal base. We had this set reupholstered in black fabric. Dutch designer Theo Ruth was born in 1915 in Maastricht. In 1936, he joined Artifort in Maastricht, where he specialized in designing living room furniture. Ruth was Artifort’s first permanent designer, and he had a major impact on its design legacy. Length of the four chairs together is 260 cm. Seat height: 38 cm.
