French vintage oil painting, L'Angelus des ecoliers, signed D. Ladrens

Oil painting on board, signed d. Ladrens or maybe labrens. It represents a couple of students in their way to the school, stopping to pray the "angelus". The painting is full of details and symbolism, like the church or the farmer who stopped working to pray too. It's funny, when I bought this painting someone told me that it was sad because they were crying in front of a grave. And I answered that they were flirting, and the boy was really shy. Then, we read the back and suddenly everything had sense and no of us were right. The painting really needs a good cleaning and varnish, but it's better if we leave this in hands of professionals. The painting measures 42 cm wide and 28 cm high.
