Luciano Frigerio Mid-Century Gaetano Padouk Wood Nightstands for Frigerio

An exceptionally rare pair of Gaetano nightstands designed by Luciano Frigerio for Frigerio di Desio in the 1970s, crafted in Padouk wood and distinguished by their highly sculptural, three-dimensional façades. The Gaetano model belongs to Luciano Frigerio’s celebrated “Scultura 99” series, conceived as a strictly limited production of only 99 examples, making pieces from this collection particularly rare and sought-after. Blurring the boundaries between functional furniture and sculpture, the series represents one of the most distinctive expressions of Frigerio’s approach to design. With their compact architectural volumes and extraordinary carved fronts, these nightstands transform a functional piece of furniture into a true sculptural presence, embodying the sophisticated craftsmanship and expressive character of 1970s Italian design.
