Old foldable board game table

Antique gaming table with a folding top, late 18th – early 19th century. • Triangular folding top. A classic of so-called portfolio gaming tables. The three panels fold to protect the game or reduce bulk. Ingenious, discreet, a bit snobbish. I like it. • Geometric marquetry in star / diamond point. Neatly crafted, not industrial. Made of walnut, possibly with fruitwood or stained wood for contrast. • One drawer. For tokens, cards, dice… or yesterday's debts. • Elegant cabriole legs. Typical of the late 18th century, very much in the Louis XV spirit. • Lightweight format. Two small scratches (see photos).
