Antique tobacco pot in hand-carved walnut, Folk Art from Savoie, Chambéry.

Magnificent antique tobacco pot made of solid walnut, originating from Chambéry (Savoie). An authentic piece of Savoyard folk art dating from the early 20th century (circa 1910-1930). Never used as a tobacco pot, it belonged to a collector. Very beautiful direct carving work "with facets" (cut sides) done entirely by hand. Decorated with domed brass nails and dotted patterns typical of Alpine craftsmanship, making it a high-end model. Marked "CHAMBÉRY" engraved under the base (Atelier Brunet or similar). Excellent condition. The wood has a very beautiful original patina. The lid fits perfectly. Vintage and Art Deco. Height 16 cm.
