Description
Period: ca. 1960s/70s. These pockets are very decorative. The smallest dish is square floral in shape and the largest is oval with scalloped edges. They are made with transparent colored enamels that have been brought back on a copper support. The colors range from gold, greens and blues in the background to which pink "drops" of a more opaque enamel have been applied. They are probably from limoges or mallorca where a tradition of enamelling on copper has long existed. These types of objects were made in the 60s/70s. Condition: good general condition. The smaller one has shine on the edge, but due to the copper-colored undercoat, it is not very noticeable and blends into the golden colors. The larger one has a small sheen on the edge. Small scales on the underside. (see photos). Size: Oval: 30 cm long, 17 cm wide, 2.8 cm high. Square: 20.5 X 20.5 cm, 4.5 cm high.
