Very pretty shell-shaped bowl, with a beautiful burgundy red enamelling enhanced with a gold border in places. It can serve as a small empty pocket, soap dish, coin catcher or even an ashtray. The stamp below tells us that it is the production of the verceram house, made in france. My research taught me that the manufacturing of this company was taken over by fourmaintraux (desvres) in 1972. But also that this model (burgundy shell with gold edging, rarer than the one in the green color) would be part of the most early, between 1930 and 1950, which could be confirmed by its pretty lines which recall the codes of the art deco period. It also has underneath, a hollow number 14 and the number 4865 in relief. It is quite difficult to find in this color. It is in very good condition, no cracks, no chips, not even a chip, but the gold edging is a little faded in places. It measures 13 cm between the tip and the opposite side, 12 cm from one side to the other, and 4.5 cm in maximum height. And a little clarification, in reality, it is a little less red and more burgundy than in the photos.
