Antique regionalist illustrated dish – "plougastel daoulas" – terre de fer hb & cie a breath of brittany! This antique fine earthenware dish, stamped terre de fer hb & cie, illustrates a breton in traditional costume from plougastel-daoulas, a small breton town famous for its strawberries… and its colorful headdresses. The scene, naive and joyful, is framed by a floral garland and a red frieze inspired by folklore. Typical of regionalist productions from the end of the 19th century, this dish was part of decorative collections celebrating the provinces of france and their traditions. A charming object, halfway between an ethnographic souvenir and a vintage wall decoration. A visible crack does not detract from its authenticity or its decorative potential: to be placed in a rustic kitchen, a family home in brittany or a collection of antique tableware with a regional theme. Stamped terre de fer hb & cie, the hb & cie stamp stands for hautin boulenger et cie, a choisy le roi earthenware factory founded in 1863 and which changed owners in 1920. The stamp therefore allows the dish to be dated around 1900. Vintage condition, patina of age and a clearly visible crack. Diameter 22 cm, height 6.5 cm.
