Grand Renaissance buffet in oak

Superb Renaissance buffet from the late 16th century to the early 17th century. Originating from the Château d’Écos. Beautiful sculptural work typical of this period. Italian and antique inspiration. On the front, you can distinguish: a central female figure in a medallion (probably an allegory: Justice, Faith, or Virtue) Female busts serving as caryatids. Niches with figures. Scrolls and fruits (symbols of abundance) This decorative vocabulary is typical of French Renaissance furniture influenced by Italy. Originally, this chest was probably a marriage chest. It was then altered in the 19th century. Some minor losses to note; the piece is made of raw oak. 244 cm long. 59 cm deep. 82 cm high.
