Plate from the 50s/60s in good condition, age-related crazing and slight cracking. Robert picault (1919-2000), an essential figure in the golden age of vallauris alongside picasso, his friend and studio neighbor, renewed traditional culinary ceramics. In search of simple and functional beauty, he reinterprets the forms of the past while practicing cooking over a wood fire. With the ideal of “creating beauty for all” he creates series with multiple variations. The decorations with metallic oxides on white enamel are available in unique pieces as evidenced by this plate which has become emblematic.
