1950s “Arielle” (Day)bed by Wim Rietveld for Auping, Netherlands

A fantastic single bed / daybed, designed by wim rietveld and manufactured by auping in the netherlands in 1950. This piece is made of black tubular metal in a beautiful combination of curved and straight shapes. It has very modern appeal and can be nicely combined in many different decors and situations! This has become an iconic piece of mid-century dutch design that will definitely draw the attention in the decor. The zigzag pattern across the borders is a beautiful touch that really nicely combines with a mattress. It can hold a mattress of 80 X 190 cm. Marked “auping” on the springs. It remains in good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful vintage patina!.
