Elephant planter ceramic flower pot

Very beautiful ceramic elephant, quite rare due to its function. In fact, this one is neither a plant holder nor an ashtray, but a planter: the “pod” on its back is hollow and can accommodate a green plant or an assembly of small succulents. It is large enough not to go unnoticed in a living room, a veranda but not too large to be easily placed on a chest of drawers or a shelf. And why not accompanied by an even larger elephant, I offer one which serves as a plant holder or end table in my store (click on “view the store”). Its colors are very beautiful, still very vivid and particularly the midnight blue of the elephant's body (midnight blue, light blue and off-white). It appears to have a number or signature engraved under its base. It is an artisanal production, at least for the enamelling and its many different carvings and colorings. It dates from the 1960s. It is in good condition, which is quite rare for these ceramics: no cracks, no chips, not even a chip, the small “flaws” (small lacks of enamelling), perfectly understandable on this type part, all seem original to me. I cleaned it carefully, with a brush in all the small reliefs, but there remains a beige coloring at the bottom of these reliefs which is in fact the terracotta exposed under the enameling in the furrows dug by the one who made the elephant decoration. It measures 32 cm in height, 29 cm in length (from the hind legs to the trunk) and approximately 17 cm in width. It weighs just under 3 kg. Very rigorous packaging in case of shipping.
