Gesto Terra floor lamp awarded to Bruno Gecchelin for Skipper – Italy

Vintage Italian floor lamp attributed to Bruno Gecchelin for Skipper, model Gesto Terra, circa 1974. Elegant construction combining a large veined white marble base, two long chrome metal uprights, and a metal head. A very architectural piece characteristic of Italian design from the 1970s. Dimensions: height approx. 220 cm; head approx. 52 × 16 cm; base approx. 16 × 16 cm. Overall good vintage condition with signs of use and restorations. The head has been repainted with epoxy paint cured in an oven, in ivory colour. Some irregularities are present at the joints/welds. The marble shows marks and small chips related to age, visible in the photographs. The electrical wiring, bulb holders, and switch have been recently replaced. The electrical part is therefore new.
