Chair called "corbusier" or still says "b9" (his late reference at thonet around 1930). Here a very good copy of at fischel stamped 1910 ca, harmonious proportions. Very good condition, it has retained the regularity of its curves, their symmetry, a healthy and robust structure. Dye of walnut origin. Cannage redone a few years ago (traditional 6-wire), in perfect condition and tense. Ready to pose and land there. Height 78 cm; seated 45 cm diameter, seating height 47 cm - width between armrests 53 cm. ********* The original model was found as early as 1899 at kohn under no.12 and then 712, whereas it appears only from 1900 to the catalogues of other manufacturers (e.g. Ungvar in 1900, thonet in 1904, mundus 1907, fischel 1910, baumann 1914...) each bringing its small variations in the lines, proportions, finishes of the starting model without altering its overall design and concept. Initially classified as an office chair but quickly became a classic of "bistrot" furniture, it owes this nickname of "corbusier" to its rediscovery in the 1920s by the famous swiss architect, whose buildings (new spirit pavilion, laroche-jeanneret house, weissenhorf city, etc.) are punctuated by the presence of the model he declares "timeless", thus elevating it to the rank of "universal" seat in interior decoration.
