We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent double-sided Victorian museum gallery bench made of solid walnut, hand-carved in the Gothic style of Pugin's bell tower. A very rare opportunity to own this hand-carved Victorian masterpiece. This bench appears to be a work of art from every angle, clearly inspired by Pugin's more ornate pieces. Never seen a double bench like this before, evidently designed for a prestigious museum or gallery. The wood has been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom, and the wood's patina is period-appropriate and correct. Some wear is visible on one of the seats in the form of a fine crack due to age-related shrinkage; otherwise, it is in perfect condition. Dimensions: Height 100 cm, Width 182.5 cm, Depth 99.5 cm measured at the widest point. Condition: good, showing signs of wear consistent with age and use, with slight structural damage and slight discolouration. Vintage and period items like leather seats always exhibit a natural patina with cracks, creases, and wear. Regular waxing is recommended to prevent moisture loss.
