Secretary with drop front in walnut burl – Restoration period, 19th century. Very beautiful drop-front secretary from the Restoration period, first half of the 19th century, featuring a remarkable façade in mirrored walnut burl, offering a particularly dynamic and warm decor. It opens at the top with a belt drawer, followed by a large drop front forming a writing desk. This reveals an architecturally designed interior including a large niche, several small drawers and compartments, with decorative green knobs. The writing surface is covered with a dark material. The lower part has three large burl drawers, each equipped with its own lock entry. The straight sides and the simplicity of the structure particularly highlight the spectacular wood grain. The piece is topped with a slightly overhanging black marble top and rests on stepped front feet. Beautiful quality of cabinetry and a very nice decorative effect thanks to the choice of woods. Old patina, signs of use, and small imperfections consistent with its age, visible in the photographs. Dimensions: height 153 cm × width 100 cm × depth 45 cm. An elegant and functional secretary, characteristic of French furniture from the first half of the 19th century, suitable for both classic and contemporary interiors.
